Updated: May 14
Summertime is finally here, and even though we are serious around here about our fitness goals, we know how to enjoy life. Sometimes laying by the pool, or tanning on the beach calls for a mixed drink. Not all alcoholic drinks have to be loaded with calories to be delicious and macro-friendly. Here are a few macro-friendly summertime mixed drink recipes that you may enjoy:
Sparkling Peach Vodka Lemonade: Mix 1.5 oz of vodka with 4 oz of light lemonade and a splash of sparkling water. Add fresh or frozen peach slices and a sprig of mint for a refreshing twist.

Strawberry Basil Gin Fizz: Can't say summer without the strawberries! Muddle 2-3 fresh strawberries and 2-3 basil leaves in the bottom of a glass. Add 1.5 oz of gin and fill the glass with sparkling water or soda water. Top with ice and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Coconut Lime Mojito: For this mixed drink, in a shaker, muddle a few fresh mint leaves and 1 oz of coconut cream. Add 1.5 oz of white rum, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and ice. Shake and strain into a glass filled with ice, then top with sparkling water or soda water.

Watermelon Margarita: Blend 2 cups of fresh watermelon chunks until smooth. Mix 1.5 oz of tequila with 1 oz of fresh lime juice and 1 oz of watermelon juice. Rim the glass with salt or sugar and fill with ice, then pour in the margarita mixture and garnish with a lime wedge for the perfect macro-friendly summertime mixed drink.

Remember to always drink responsibly and in moderation! Happy Summer!
